Is yoti id safe to use?

Yoti ID is designed to be secure, but whether you’re comfortable using it depends on your own privacy tolerance. The Yoti app uses strong encryption to protect your data in transit and at rest, and splits and encrypts individual identity attributes so they’re harder to misuse. It also positions itself as compliant with modern data‑protection rules (like GDPR), and is used in regulated environments for identity and age verification.

However, you still have to share sensitive information (ID documents and facial biometrics) with a third party, and some audits and user reviews raise concerns about data sharing with analytics/third‑party services and occasional verification issues. It’s wise to read Yoti's privacy and security pages carefully, then only use Yoti where you feel the benefit (e.g. quick age/ID verification) clearly outweighs the risk.
